Check in to the deluxe Orient-Express Hotel Das Cataratas. As the only guests within Brazil’s Iguassu National Park, you enjoy exclusive access to the nearby falls in the evening and at dawn when the park is closed to other visitors!

Day 2 - Discover Iguassu Falls #WHS#
Spend a full day with our in-the-know guide and explore these 275 magnificent cascades, spanning nearly two miles in the lush subtropical jungle. You’ll visit all the best vantage points on both the Brazilian and Argentine sides, including the famous Devil’s Throat Cataract. Meals B

Day 3 - From Iguassu to Manaus
Early this morning you’ll be transferred to the airport for your included flight to Manaus. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and escorted to the Tropical Hotel. The balance of your evening is free to enjoy as you wish. Meals B

Day 4 - Embark the Motor Yacht Tucano
Enjoy a leisurely morning before stepping aboard the M/Y Tucano. As you glide quietly up the Rio Negro, your Amazon odyssey begins with a briefing from the ship’s expert naturalists. Late afternoon finds your vessel navigating the winding channels of the Anavilhanas Archipelago, one of the world’s largest island river systems. As conditions permit, you might go for an excursion into the dense forests where squirrel monkeys are frequently seen and howler monkeys often heard. This is also a great chance to see many brightly colored Amazon birds. Return to ship for hors d’oeuvres on the Observation Deck as the sun dips behind the dense foliage. After dinner, set out in the Tucano’s launches to search for nocturnal creatures like the caiman and potoo, a night bird with bulging eyes and a large mouth adapted to capturing the huge Mariposa moth. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Deeper into the Amazon
Join our expert naturalists early this morning to explore the tall dense rainforests of the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Here you’ll find the Igapó, an unusual flooded eco-system of dense forests rising directly from the dark waters of the Rio Negro. Later, a hike through a high Amazon forest reveals a very different environment, home to its own unique flora and fauna. As weather and water-level conditions permit, you will enjoy additional late afternoon and evening excursions, a great time to spot sloths scrambling high in the limbs of the jungle. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Forest communities of the Amazon
Early this morning, you’ll awaken to another remote rainforest area accessible only to shallow-draft vessels like the Tucano. Explore by launch after breakfast and then set out on a guided forest walk before resuming your voyage downstream. After lunch, go ashore to visit a small Amazon village. Spending time in this isolated community promises fascinating insight into the traditions that help these families survive in the remote interior. During the night, the Tucano weighs anchor and navigates downstream to the Xiborena Peninsula that divides the Rio Negro and Amazon River. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Lago Janauari Park and the Meeting of the Waters
As conditions permit, you’ll explore by launch through the dense flooded forests of Lago Janauari Ecological Park. Venturing through narrow channels overhung with trees and vines, you’ll have a chance to espy monkeys, sloths and the occasional collared anteater. After lunch, the Tucano navigates along the Encontra das Aguas, where the brown waters of the Amazon and the darker waters of the Rio Negro flow side by side for miles without mixing. Pink and grey river dolphins are often seen cavorting along this stark line of contrasting currents. Tonight, sit down to a special farewell dinner and toast your crew and fellow guests with a Caipirinha, the national drink of Brazil! Meals B,L,D

Day 8 - Disembarkation, Manaus tour and departure
Step off the ship in Manaus for a morning tour. Surrounded by miles of rainforest in every direction, this energetic city retains the spirit of a frontier town. Explore its colorful past as you admire monuments like the ornate Amazon Theater and then transfer to the airport. Meals B
