Day 1 - Welcome to Berlin, Germany!
Check in to the 5-star Regent Berlin, one of the city’s most elegant luxury hotels.

Day 2 - The best of Berlin
This morning’s expertly guided sightseeing explores the city’s diverse highlights, from the imposing Brandenburg Gate to Checkpoint Charlie, a fascinating relic of the Cold War era. Sit down to lunch in one of your guide’s favorite city restaurants and enjoy the rest of your afternoon as you wish. Meals B,L

Day 3 - By rail to Warsaw, Poland
A scenic rail journey across the border and through the pastoral Polish countryside brings you to Warsaw by mid afternoon. Upon arrival, transfer and settle in to your inviting room at to the deluxe Polonia Palace. Then enjoy a guided late afternoon stroll before dining this evening at Freta Gallery, a Belle Epoque gem in the heart of Warsaw’s Old Town. Meals B,D

Day 4 - Warsaw #WHS# sightseeing and excursion to Lowicz
Begin your morning tour in Lazienki Royal Park and continue along the Royal Route, graced with landmarks like the Opera House and Town Hall. Stop in the historic Warsaw Ghetto, enjoy a guided walking tour in Old Town and visit St. John’s Cathedral. This afternoon, head to Zelazowa Wola, the manor house where Frederic Chopin was born. Arriving in the charming town of Lowicz, you’ll be greeted by a local family with a traditional bread and salt welcome before sitting down to a congenial dinner prepared by your hosts. Enjoy dessert in their private garden before returning to your hotel in Warsaw. Meals B,D

Day 5 - On to Krakow #WHS#
Travel to Czestochowa to the Jasna Gora Monastery, a revered pilgrimage site, and see the famous Black Madonna, a treasured icon which has been credited over the centuries with numerous miracles. Enjoy lunch in town and continue on to the Sheraton Krakow Hotel where the balance of your evening is free. Meals B,L

Day 6 - In and around Krakow
This morning’s guided walking tour takes in the highlights of Old Town including the handsome Market Square, Renaissance-era Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Church. You’ll have free time to enjoy lunch on your own before a horse-drawn carriage brings you to the Schindler Factory museum, where meticulously staged, multi-media exhibits provide a powerful “you are there” experience of life in Krakow under the Nazi occupation. Later this afternoon, join the included sightseeing tour of your choice: a moving visit to Auschwitz #WHS# or an excursion to the incredible Wieliczka Salt Mines #WHS#, where miners have carved a magnificent underground chapel from the rock salt. Day 7 - Journey to Budapest, Hungary
Your scenic journey across the Tatra Mountains is enriched by the keen insights and broad knowledge of our own Hungarian guide. Continue through Slovakia, stopping for lunch, and travel onward into Hungary. Arrive in Budapest and check in to the Sofitel Chain Bridge Hotel, overlooking its famous namesake on the Danube. Day 8 - Discover Budapest #WHS# and Szentendre
After breakfast, meet our native-born Budapest guide to explore the city he loves and knows so well, including the historic Matthias Church and the landmark Fishermen’s Bastion, offering magnificent views of the Danube and the ornate spires of Parliament. Afterwards, travel into the picturesque Hungarian countryside to Szentendre. Filled with Baroque churches, colorful homes and winding streets, this charming town in the Danube Bend is now a thriving artists’ colony. You’ll have time to explore and choose a place for lunch before returning for a free evening in Budapest. Meals B

Day 9 - At leisure in Budapest
You have this entire day free to explore Budapest. An included ticket for a Danube sightseeing cruise is a delightful way to relax in between exploring and shopping.
