Tauck's eastern Canada, featuring Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto and Niagara Falls vacation explores four eastern Canadian cities with distinctly diverse cultural backgrounds. Stay at premier Fairmont hotels, each a historic landmark in itself, along with visits to Quebec's Montmorency Falls and Ontario's Niagara Falls. Special experiences include a cruise on the St. Lawrence River among the Thousand Islands; and a close-up look at one of the world's most iconic sites, the thundering waters of Niagara Falls, on a trip aboard the nostalgic Maid of the Mist.

•   A private docent-led tour, reception and dinner at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto

Day 1: Arrive Toronto
A transfer is included from Toronto International Airport to The Fairmont Royal York, ideally located in the heart of the city. Your trip through Canada’s capital cities gets off to a festive start this evening  when you join us for a private welcome reception and dinner at the newly transformed Royal Ontario Museum, an after-hours sparkling event for Tauck guests only.
Overnight: Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, PQ
Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2: Metropolitan glamour in Toronto
Perched on the shores of Lake Ontario, Toronto exudes excitement around every bend. A city sightseeing tour includes a visit to the CN Tower, one of the world’s tallest freestanding structures, and views Harbourfront Centre, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and Dundas Square. Stop in the Distillery District for an up-close look at its impressive industrial architecture and explore on your own for the rest of the day. Dine at your leisure in the hotel tonight.
Overnight: Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, PQ
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch

Day 3: Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake
Journey to Niagara Falls today. You’ll see the mist long before you see the falls thundering over the precipice at a rate of 6 million cubic feet of water per minute. View the falls from high above as the water plunges nearly 200 feet into a rocky gorge; don a hooded raincoat as you board the "Maid of the Mist" for an unforgettable boat ride that ensures an up-close – and wet – encounter with the falls. Whet your appetite for a tour and ice wine tasting at a local vineyard in Niagara-on-the-Lake, before exploring the town on your own – a stroll down Queen Street is like walking into a Victorian-era film set with its colorful storefronts, carved facades and hanging flower baskets. Return to Toronto late afternoon.
Overnight: Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Quebec City, PQ
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch

Day 4: Cruise the Thousand Islands
Take a luncheon cruise through the Thousand Islands, home to quaint summer houses and opulent mansions, en route to Canada’s capital city of Ottawa. Ideally set close to Canada’s Parliament Buildings and the Ottawa River, your accommodations for two nights at the stately Fairmont Château Laurier are reminiscent of an elegant French château. Dinner is at your leisure in the hotel’s acclaimed Wilfrid’s restaurant, offering wonderful views of the Parliament Buildings and the Rideau Locks.
Overnight: Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Quebec City, PQ
Meals Included: Breakfast, dinner

Day 5: A day as you please in Ottawa
Sightseeing in Ottawa today showcases views of the city’s stately government buildings with their grand 19th-century architecture and includes a guided visit to Canada’s Parliament and House of Commons. Take a guided tour of the Museum of Civilization to see exhibits chronicling 20,000 years of human history in Canada. The remainder of the day is free.
Overnight: Fairmont Château Laurier, Ottawa, ON
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch

Day 6: From the Mounties to Montreal
Enjoy an informative presentation by a retired officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the national police force of Canada; it is unique in the world as a national, federal, provincial and municipal police force. Depart for French-speaking Montreal, stopping for lunch at privately owned Château Vaudreuil en route. A guided city sightseeing tour upon your arrival in Montreal offers a great introduction to life in the Province of Quebec. Your hotel is ideally located in the heart of the downtown area, making it easy for you to see the sights during your two-night stay.
Overnight: Fairmont Château Laurier, Ottawa, ON
Meals Included: Breakfast, dinner

Day 7: Taste your way through Montreal
Join us for a walking tour of Old Montreal, where gas-lamped cobblestone streets, lined with restored 18th- and 19th-century architecture, remind you of Old World Europe. In addition to evoking romance and history, “Vieux-Montreal” entices with an array of multicultural, epicurean delights. Sample a taste of local specialties as you explore! Spend the afternoon at leisure, discovering the sights on your own and make plans to join us for dinner tonight at a popular local restaurant.
Overnight: The Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, ON
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch

Day 8: Maple Ice, Waterfalls and a grand Château
Leave Montreal this morning for Quebec City. Follow the mighty St. Lawrence River to Trois Rivières for a taste of locally produced maple products at a traditional Quebec sugar shack, or as they are locally known, a Québécois cabana à sucre. Continue on to majestic Montmorency Falls, 98 feet higher than Niagara Falls, where lunch gives you time to view this natural spectacle unhurried. Your arrival in Quebec City this afternoon is made even more memorable when you view the ramparts of the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, one of the most iconic hotels in French Canada – and your home for the next two nights. A landmark of hospitality for more than a century, it is perched high on a bluff overlooking the mighty St. Lawrence River, and the historic walled city below.
Overnight: The Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, ON
Meals Included: Breakfast, dinner

Day 9: Old World charm in Quebec City
Take a sightseeing tour of the provincial capital, the hemisphere’s only walled city north of Mexico and one of the oldest cities in North America! Wander through the cobblestone, car-free streets of Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site reminiscent of 17th-century Europe; it is steeped in Old World charm and ambiance. See landmarks of history at the walls of the Citadelle overlooking the mighty St. Lawrence River and walk onto the Plains of Abraham, site of a 20-minute battle that changed the continent’s destiny. After an afternoon at leisure exploring on your own, join us for a farewell dinner at the hotel.
Overnight: The Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, ON
