Days 3 – 5: Chobe River Cruise, Botswana
The great Chobe River divides Namibia’s Caprivi Strip from Botswana’s Chobe National Park, and the river’s exotic banks boast one of the densest populations of wildlife on the African continent. After boarding your home for the next three nights — the luxurious Zambezi Queen — embark on the first of many game-viewing cruises from small boats that allow you to get close to the elephants, crocodiles and hippos that call the river home. When you’re not on safari, take a dip in the pool, enjoy a relaxing siesta, tour a local village by canoe or even do some fishing.
Hotel: Zambezi Queen, Chobe River
Days 6 & 7: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Discover the natural wonders of Victoria Falls, “The Smoke That Thunders,” while on an elephant-back safari. Take a helicopter flight to get a bird’s-eye view of this natural wonder. The Edwardian-style Victoria Falls Hotel, known as “the Grand Dame of the Falls,” is just a few minutes walk from the famous falls using the hotel’s private pathway.
Hotel: The Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria Falls
Days 8 – 12: Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia & Depart for Home
The pristine Lower Zambezi National Park occupies nearly 1,600 square miles of spectacular wilderness and is home to lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, hippos, zebras and an astonishing array of birdlife. Your luxurious accommodations are at the Royal Zambezi Lodge, located on the bank of the Zambezi River just opposite the famous Mana Pools Reserve in Zimbabwe. While in this stunning setting, embark on game drives, river trips and walking safaris; then return to your luxurious camp for a cocktail at sunset and an intimate, private dinner under the stars.
On Day 11, fly back to Lusaka to catch your flight home (arriving the following day) or on to your next destination.
